AVAILABLE POSITIONS Senior Engineering Manager – Blockchain Gaming

Zynga's blockchain gaming team is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager whose experience can allow them to both manage a team of engineers, as well as provide technical direction on development of web3 games.

 

We have a well-rounded, and tight-knit, distributed team with a healthy mix of engineering skill levels and are looking to strengthen our team in tackling the challenges of building a brand new game and overall engineering infrastructure.

 

The optimal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience as an Engineering Manager and at least 8 years of total experience working on teams in the game industry.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage engineers in their tasks considering morale, career growth and future planning
  • Lead large initiatives and improve efficiencies in development processes
  • Define and scope out tasks, systems, and timelines
  • Help review and contribute to engineering architectures
  • Monitor and improve engineering process
  • Provide technical perspective to Senior Leadership in discussions with external partners and vendors
  • Strives for development process perfection including planning, time and quality estimation, problem solving, and communicating development status.

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education / work experience
  • 3+ Years experience as an Engineering Manager
  • 8+ Years prior  industry experience as a Software Engineer
  • Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software methodologies
  • Prior game development experience (on shipped titles or live games experience)
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to build, manage, mentor and lead multiple teams of engineers.
  • Able to work collaboratively with engineering stakeholders including design, user experience, product and analytics teams.

 

BONUS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Web3/blockchain development experience with a focus on web-based browser games
  • Experience in Solidity, Rust, HTML5, Javascript or similar programming languages and platforms
  • Server experience; for example, web service integration, application server performance, relational databases or data analytics.

This is a fully remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. The pay range for this position for applicants based in Colorado at the start of employment is expected to be between $157,000 and $216,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.   Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
