Zynga is seeking a versatile and highly engaged designer to join a small cross-disciplinary team to build key features across multiple high-profile titles within the company portfolio.

Your role will focus on supporting the development of new game features at every stage of the process. From contributing design documentation, through facilitating implementation and content creation, to managing game data – you will be an integral part in ensuring the successful delivery of the feature.

Throughout all of the above you will be required to work closely with design, UX, and engineering to find practical solutions to achieve design goals and overcome implementation challenges.

In this role, you will be reporting directly to a highly experienced design leader, who will help you further enhance and broaden your existing skill set.

The ideal candidate will need to be self-sufficient, proactive, and multi-faced with a good all around understanding of game development. You are someone who enjoys being involved not only with the conceptual design process, but also with the practical challenges of bringing game design to life in software.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Write detailed focused design specifications that effectively communicate design goals across disciplines.

  • Collaborating closely with UX to help facilitate wireframes and specify art requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineering to support feature implementation, helping to identify and resolve design challenges and edge-cases.

  • Get hands on with content integration including art integration, asset management, tuning data, and localization.

Recommended Experience

  • 3+ years of experience working in the mobile gaming industry.

  • Experience writing implementation ready feature specification.

  • Practical experience working with feature pods and collaborating across disciplines.

  • Previous experience with content integration and data management. 

  • Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.

  • A good understanding of metagame and systems design.

  • Experience working with Unity or Unreal is a plus.
